WEBSep 8, 2024 · M2 versus M4 is not the same as M3 versus M4. Also, in comparing tiers of Apple products, it’s helpful to consider memory bandwidth. The M2 Pro (200 GB/s) has twice that of both M2/M3 (100). M4 has a nice bump to 120, so M4 Pro could be 240.

WEBApr 1, 2023 · For my needs, 8GB is an overkill. I decided to buy an M2 Mini with 8GB instead of a feel good configuration of 16GB. My M2 mini will easily run a couple of Safari tabs, several Microsoft Edge windows and tabs, Firefox, Mail, Calculator. Memory pressure usually stays in the 40% range, memory usage is 6GB out of 8GB.

The standard m2 is plenty powerful, and if you had to choose the RAM is likely more useful. Something also to consider is the ports on the m2 Pro however, which gives you more options.
