Coming off an armful of big Emmy wins earlier this month, Baby Reindeer and Netflix took a big hit today as a federal judge ruled the big bucks defamation case against the dark comedy and the streamer will go forward.

The defamation lawsuit against Netflix has been allowed to proceed. A judge has ruled that the series line, "This is a true story," is misleading and makes viewers believe that the real Martha was actually convicting of stalking creator Richard Gadd.

Baby Reindeer creator and star Richard Gadd is set to return to Netflix for a new show after signing a multi-year deal with the streamer.
