The British pop-rock band is set to perform in Mumbai on January 18-19, 2025. Tickets went on sale on September 22 at noon and sold out immediately. Following a complaint from an advocate regarding the ticketing platform,

Coldplay's Mumbai concert in January 2025 sold out in minutes, leaving many fans disappointed. Soon after, tickets appeared on the black market at sky-high prices. Now, BookMyShow’s CEO has been summoned by Mumbai Police over an alleged ticket scam, leading to rumours that the concert might be cancelled.

Anil Makhija, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Big Tree Entertainment, the parent firm of BookMyShow, appeared before the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Mumbai Police today. This is part of an ongoing probe into claims of ticket fraud for the much-anticipated Coldplay concert in Mumbai.

This comes days after lawyer Amit Vyas filed a complaint to the Economic Offences Wing against the company for black-marketing the tickets on the ticket reselling app Viagogo. BookMyShow has denied any involvement with ticket reselling platforms like Viagogo and Gigsberg.
