Republicans currently hold seven seats, while Democrats hold two. This year, all of the state's U.S. House races featured a Libertarian candidate running for office for the first time since at least 2012.

There are 93 electoral votes at stake among the seven swing states. If Ms. Harris and Mr. Trump win all the states they are expected to win easily, Ms. Harris will need 44 of these electoral votes to secure the presidency. Mr. Trump will need 51.

The first wave of exit polls has voters naming the state of democracy and the economy as their most important issues.
