The First Alert Weather Team has declared Saturday a First Alert Weather Day due to expected rain and storms, some of which could be strong to severe.A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in place for the most of North Texas until noon Saturday.

The First Alert Weather Team says it’s going to be a warm weekend. Here’s what you can expect: Temperatures this morning are mild in the low 60s, with areas of fog that will persist until shortly after sunrise. It will be a relatively warm day, with highs in the middle to upper 70s and mostly cloudy skies.

We have a low-end threat for isolated severe storms late this afternoon and evening (2 p.m. CST - 8 p.m. CST) in west Alabama.

One tornado swirled through fields near El Campo, Texas on Thursday, roughly midway between Houston and Victoria. Another twister touched down near Atascocita in Harris County, then moved over Lake Houston.

Parts of southwest Texas saw a handful of tornadoes Thursday that caused some property damage, but no reported serious injuries. More severe storms are in the forecast for the area this weekend.
