The National Hurricane Center was busy Monday tracking newly formed Tropical Storm Kirk, as well as what remains of Tropical Depression Joyce and Post-Tropical Cyclone Isaac in the Atlantic while also monitoring two more systems with the potential to become the season’s next tropical depression or storm.

Now comes a new outlook. With a couple of days left in September, forecasters are tracking three tropical systems with potential for development.

Two tropical disturbances in the Atlantic basin are expected to strengthen. All Gulf Coast residents should monitor the one in the Caribbean.

According to the National Hurricane Center, one disturbance could become a tropical depression "at any time today," while another is forecast to form and move into the Gulf of Mexico next week.

Along with the expected hurricane in the Gulf, a disturbance in the eastern Atlantic is likely to become a tropical depression later this week.
