Hurricane Kirk forms in Atlantic, but it’s no threat to land
Kirk was not a threat to land and is expected to curve out into the open Atlantic later this week. However, forecasters think Kirk could continue to strengthen and peak as a Category 3 storm with 125 mph winds. Here’s the track as of Tuesday from the hurricane center:
Tropical Storm Kirk expected to become a major hurricane, but won't threaten Florida
Tropical Storm Kirk is continuing to strengthen in the Atlantic Ocean, but there's no chance it will impact Florida. The storm is currently about 1,010 miles west of the Cabo Verde Islands, with wind speeds of 70 mph. It's moving west-northwest at 13 mph.
