With 1:42 left in the third period, and with the extra attacker, the Rangers got on the board with a goal from Anton Blidh. New York kept their net empty until time ran out, but New Jersey held on to secure the win, their first of the preseason. The win was also the Rangers first loss this preseason as New York entered the night with a 3-0 record.

The Rangers have had an eventful start to preseason with a 3-2 win Sunday against Boston and a 6-4 comeback victory Tuesday against the New York Islanders. Artemi Panarin (lower-body injury) and Ryan Lindgren (upper-body injury) both left the Islanders game early.

Jonathan Quick is expected to start and play the entire preseason game for the New York Rangers against the New Jersey Devils on Monday night. After Monday’s practice, Rangers coach Peter Laviolette confirmed that Quick will not be splitting time with another goalie and is set to play for the entirety of the contest.
