After a brief delay, Samsung is rolling out the October 2024 security patch for the Galaxy S24.

Samsung has started rolling out the October 2024 security update for the Galaxy S24 series of devices in the US.

As usual, newer flagships will get the updates early, and cheaper, older devices still under support will have to wait their turn later in the month. For those with older phones, it’s always worth checking you’re still on support. There are now between 500 and 750 million Android devices that are not, and plenty of those are Samsungs.

Samsung released the Galaxy A16, a new cheap 5G smartphone that offers 6 years of Android updates, setting a new standard in the industry.
