Katie Boulter beaten by Coco Gauff in China Open third round - Boulter went down 7-5 6-2 despite a battling performance against the World No 6

Coco Gauff reached the third round of the China Open by beating Clara Burel 7-5, 6-3 on Friday in her first match since the U.S. Open.

Boulter is coming off a defeat to No. 74-ranked Jessica Bouzas Maneiro, 5-7, 5-7, in the Round of 64 at the US Open. In the US Open (her previous tournament), Gauff was defeated in the Round of 16 by No. 12-ranked Emma Navarro, 3-6, 6-4, 3-6.
