A former Missouri police officer and a former Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper have both been indicted on civil rights violations and accused of taking nude images from women’s phones during traffic stops.

Officials allege that the former Florissant officer looked through the victim's phones under the guise of confirming insurance or identification.

In an unrelated case also in Missouri, a former state trooper was charged with searching the phones of female drivers to acquire explicit images.

A Missouri highway patrol trooper and, separately, a Florissant police officer are accused of illegally searching women’s phones for nude images during traffic stops.

Two Missouri police officers were indicted separately this week and accused of similar crimes — pulling over women and searching their phones to find nude photos.

They acted separately more than 100 miles apart but were indicted within the same week for identical allegations.
