Diplomatic tensions over global warming will take center stage at the G20 summit in Brazil this week, as negotiators at U.N. talks in Azerbaijan hit an impasse on climate finance that they hope leaders of the world's 20 major economies can break.

Negotiations were deadlocked Saturday at the midway point of the UN climate summit, with hopes pinned on G20 leaders intervening to strike a critical finance pact at the crunch talks.

Brazil's first lady, Janja Lula da Silva, swore at billionaire Elon Musk during a G20 social event on Saturday at which she spoke about the need to regulate social media to rein in misinformation. A ship's horn sounded as she spoke and she joked,

F--- you, Elon Musk,” Brazil’s first lady said as her husband geared up to host a high-stakes summit of Group of 20 leaders.

During the G20 event, Brazil's First Lady Janja Lula da Silva criticised Elon Musk over his X's suspension in Brazil for failing to comply with regulations.
