The No. 4-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide held off the No. 2-ranked Georgia Bulldogs 41-34 in a game for the ages on Saturday night. The Bulldogs erased a 28-0 deficit and even took a 34-33 lead with a little over two minutes remaining in the fourth quarter.

The Georgia head coach is used to being on the right side of games like Saturday’s, but this time Smart was on the wrong side of a pulsating SEC showdown in Tuscaloosa, as Alabama once again broke the Bulldogs’ hearts with a 41-34 victory.

But as Paul Finebaum reminded viewers on SEC Nation Saturday, not many people had much success against Nick Saban’s Alabama program. With Saban retired and Kalen DeBoer now coaching the Crimson Tide, Smart has a chance to reverse that trend.

After the game, cameras caught a post-game exchange between DeBoer and Georgia head coach Kirby Smart. The latter was filmed jogging on the field as he headed toward DeBoer shortly after the game had ended.
