South Sudan travelled to South Africa with only 15 players as they found the plane tickets too expensive to accommodate the whole team.

South Africa sealed top place in their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying group after defeating South Sudan at the DHL Stadium on Tuesday evening.

Hugo Broos’ side picked up an impressive 14 points out of 18 in Group K, and comfortably take their place in Morocco at the end of next year. In the more immediate future, Bafana will bid to qualify for the 2026 Fifa World Cup, with confidence in the national team at a height not seen in a long while.

Capetonians have been waiting for this day for nearly 10 years. Bafana Bafana will be at the DHL Stadium this evening in Afcon Qualifiers against South Sudan.

On Tuesday morning it was revealed that all the available tickets had sold out for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier between Bafana Bafana and South Sudan at the Cape Town Stadium.
