Greeneville's water supply will run out Sept. 29, Laura White, Greeneville Water Commission superintendent told Knox News.

Days after Helene made landfall in Florida’s Big Bend region as a Category 4 hurricane, more than 2 million customers remain without power. At least 66 deaths have been confirmed as a result of the storm, at least a third of whom were killed by falling trees.

Between the calls from loved ones, and the amount of police closing down local streets in their Cocke County town of Newport, they decided to pack up and evacuate.

The remnants of the storm have made their way here, bringing the winds that caused damage across East Tennessee.
