Lando Norris’s title hopes ended in Brazil following another messy Sunday afternoon. Starting on pole with rival Max Verstappen in 17th, there was an opportunity for Norris to further dent Verstappen’s 44-point lead.

McLaren believe that a ‘technical’ fault on the MCL38 caused Lando Norris to lose grip during the final stint of the Brazilian Grand Prix. The Brit suffered multiple excursions off the racetrack as he laboured to a P6 finish in Interlagos.

Of course, the bigger story was the fight for the Drivers’ Championship. Because with Max Verstappen lingering behind the McLaren duo, starting the day in fourth, Saturday’s F1 Sprint Race offered Norris and McLaren a tremendous chance for the British driver to pick up a few points on Verstappen in their battle for the Drivers’ Championship.
