Subaru has a new Strong Hybrid powertrain with a much more powerful electric component, and we should see it soon in a Forester Hybrid.

The hybrid version of the sixth-generation Subaru Forester will arrive for the 2025 model year in the United States instead of 2026 as previously believed. This will join the existing non-hybrid model that was revealed

The first Forester Hybrid, unlikely to have a charge port, is due to arrive in the U.S. sooner than Subaru had originally let on.

Subaru has been without a hybrid vehicle, at least in the U.S., since the Crosstrek Hybrid bowed out at the end of 2023. The automaker has an electric vehicle in the form of the Solterra, but the arrival of the Forester Hybrid will mark the brand's return to the hybrid segment.

Come mid-2025, the Subaru Forester Hybrid will become available in the US market. Unfortunately, technical details are not available as of this writing

The fuel-sipping Forester will likely share its powertrain with the upcoming Crosstrek Wilderness, which uses a new 2.5-liter flat-four and an electric motor.
